To Do List

Trying to figure out what I need to bring for a new job that is 8 months on a ship is kinda difficult. I have this HUGE list on my phone and am continuously adding to the list. I have all the required stuff like: work clothes and camera. But then there is the other stuff that I have to think about: bathroom supplies, regular clothes, my computer and gadgets.... the list goes on and on.

I finally cleaned out my suitcases and transferred the clothes to boxes... now I have to take those boxes to my storage unit and fill the suitcases up with what I am taking. I got an idea from my sister that it would be easier to pack and make sure I hav
e room to spare if I got those space saver things. They make them for traveling.. which might work since I am sure I will be packing more when I leave..... It is inevitable to not have more stuff when you return home on a trip...

I am the biggest procrastinator around..... but I am trying to get ready early. We will see how well that works. I am the last minute get everything together at 2 am before I go to sleep.

My flight is at 9:05am Sunday..... My sister and the fam are going to be leaving the house at 6:45am to get me to the airport... It is going to be a challenge to get these guys out of the house on time. We always have to leave earlier than needed because there is usually a few things that need to be done on the way... gas, let the dogs out, etc. It's a procrastination family around here.

My mind is everywhere right now... as you can see. It is jumping from one thought to the next which might explain why I can't get anything done right now... Ugh.

New Opportunities

For all of you that know me, I have finally left the restaurant business. I am now officially a Ship's Photographer. It has been one new experience after another since I first got the email about an interview. When I got the first email I was still working in the restaurant business. Unfortunately because of the short staff, I was unable to make the date in December. Lucky me, I had another opportunity for an interview in January. I made a decision to throw caution in the wind and put in my notice at the restaurant before I knew of the interview date. For some reason I wasn't panic about my decision, I was actually a little relieved.

The countdown to when I leave is steadily getting closer. I have 4 days until I get on an airplane and head west. I am getting excited more and more as the days go by, but there is still much more to be done before I leave. I wanted to spend time with family and friends since I won't be able to in the next 8 months. I have this feeling that I am going to miss everyone a lot, but I am not going to be homesick. I see this as another trip to a new place, but the only difference is this one is going to be 8 months long instead of 2 weeks..... I am totally giggling here... :-)

I am going to try and get on here everyday or every other day depending on my schedule. I hope to share my new experiences with everyone and certainly post photos of what I have seen. So get ready to be jealous.... my first cruise goes to Hawaii. We will be stopping by the following Hawaiian Islands: Hilo, Lahaina, Honolulu, and Nawailiwili.
