School, school, school

Today it seems that I have been lacking in the sleep area and my mind decided without my permission to ignore my alarm clock and sleep in. Yep, I missed both of my classes today because I over-slept. I will say I am now at a Starbucks trying to get some kind of school work down... while also playing Cafe World on Facebook.. and chatting with my sister... and updating my applications for my Iphone... We can easily see that my whole focus on school work isn't working out very well. BUT, I did get some flashcards made for my Iphone for my French class... score! I did get something done today.

I have work later today and only have.. lets see.. an hour left here before I need to head home and start getting ready for work. Blah, blah blah... that's what I think about work right now..

But back to my hopeful school work....

With this flashcard application, I can put all of my french vocab in an excel document (numbers if you are Mac user like me) and magically turn them into wonderful flashcards that I can carry around in my phone and use anywhere... the trick is putting all these words in the document. French words... using an english keyboard.... you see the small problem??

My french vocab have all these accents that I cannot create on an english keyboard, but lucky me I have the capability to turn my keyboard into a french one.... which is a lot to get use to.

The 'Q' is no longer where it says it is
on my side..it has switched to where the 'A' is, the 'M' has moved along with the 'Z' and 'W' . Talk about a lot of backspacing. And the wonderful accents like: é, à, è, and anything with ^.... I think it took me twice as long to make these flashcards than it should have.

This is what I was looking at all day...

German Food Weekend

Well we started the weekend by going shopping on Friday.

We hit World Market, which I can say is my FAVORITE place to go... I spend way too much time and money there. We went to Bed Bath and Beyond, where I bought a reusable coffee mug that also supports Breast Cancer Research. My sister and I went looking through all the curtains and appliances for her new house that they are building... And sadly I had to push her along because I started to get bored with all the curtains.. that's ADD for you... hehehe

After all this shopping we had to stop by a really cool rug store.. And of course my sister has some really good taste and wants the huge rug on the wall that costs about $20k. But I have to say it was really pretty. She will be returning to look at some rugs on sale and I have to say she wouldn't have known what the 'SALE' sign meant unless I had stopped to check it out.

After all this fun we had to go to the store and get supplies for all of the German goodness we were cooking on Saturday... Our shopping list:
Round steak, pickles, purple cabbage, bacon, and other items I cannot remember.... :-)

On Saturday my sister and I started cooking at 11am. Starting with the Rouladen. I was in charge of pounding out the meat and tenderizing it. We had gotten 4 packages of round steak to use. It took a good hour to hour and half to get through all the meat... I actually had to take a 15 minute nap and rest my arm.

When it was all said and done my sister and I had cooked the Rouladen, purple cabbage, spaetzle, and awesome homemade apple streusel. Here are a couple of phone photos I took last night...

Apple Streusel

My plate of yummy Goodness

The evening was wonderfully stuffed with good food and good company. We finished the evening with the movie Zombieland which I certainly recommend for anyone to watch. We laughed so hard all throughout the movie.

Back to School

It has been a long time since I posted anything here. It also has been kinda crazy. If I remember correctly, the last time I tried to post something my computer started to go crazy. Well now I have a new computer and it is beautiful. I finally had to suck it up and get my Mac Book Pro that I will eventually use for my Photography career.

Isn't it pretty??

So now that I have this wonderful computer I can play on the internet more.. yea!

Also, I am finally finishing up my degree... I had to take a year or so off in 2006 because I started a new job and wanted to do well. Now my Tuesdays and Thursdays are early morning risers and with a 45 minute trip to school. And if I am lucky, I get to go to work right after I get home... I am so excited about that one... ha. ha. ha.

But on the other hand I am taking my third semester of French, which I feel like I am a little behind, but am doing okay in class. I also am retaking a General Business class so that the credits will count toward my Minor instead of being transfer credits. Easy class. Easy A.

Hopefully I will be throwing myself into some photography project here. I have a friend who is managing a band and wants me to do the photographs. Very exciting. I will post some of those once I get them done... First we have to talk prices.. yikes.. money always messes things up, but I am sure she is going to be okay with what I have to offer.

This is enough for me now.. time to go to work...
This weekend is German Food Weekend... very exciting also.. I can't wait.
