We hit World Market, which I can say is my FAVORITE place to go... I spend way too much time and money there. We went to Bed Bath and Beyond, where I bought a reusable coffee mug that also supports Breast Cancer Research. My sister and I went looking through all the curtains and appliances for her new house that they are building... And sadly I had to push her along because I started to get bored with all the curtains.. that's ADD for you... hehehe
After all this shopping we had to stop by a really cool rug store.. And of course my sister has some really good taste and wants the huge rug on the wall that costs about $20k. But I have to say it was really pretty. She will be returning to look at some rugs on sale and I have to say she wouldn't have known what the 'SALE' sign meant unless I had stopped to check it out.
After all this fun we had to go to the store and get supplies for all of the German goodness we were cooking on Saturday... Our shopping list:
Round steak, pickles, purple cabbage, bacon, and other items I cannot remember.... :-)
On Saturday my sister and I started cooking at 11am. Starting with the Rouladen. I was in charge of pounding out the meat and tenderizing it. We had gotten 4 packages of round steak to use. It took a good hour to hour and half to get through all the meat... I actually had to take a 15 minute nap and rest my arm.
When it was all said and done my sister and I had cooked the Rouladen, purple cabbage, spaetzle, and awesome homemade apple streusel. Here are a couple of phone photos I took last night...

My plate of yummy Goodness
The evening was wonderfully stuffed with good food and good company. We finished the evening with the movie Zombieland which I certainly recommend for anyone to watch. We laughed so hard all throughout the movie.
